Asparagus Beef or Bacon Maki Rolls



1. Thinly slice 1/2 pound of beef/bacon.

2. Lightly steam 12 asparagus spears, or you can bake them at 350 degress for 20 minutes in a large pan with 1/4 cup of water, 1 stick of butter, and 1 tablespoon of salt.

3. After the asparagus is cooked, cut each stalk into 3 or 4 peices (each about an inch or so high).

4. Wrap 2 peices of asparagus into each slice of beef or bacon. Then, in a pan with 2 tablespoons of oil, fry up each wrap.

5. After all the wraps are cooked, spread a think layer of pre-cooked japanese rice over some 6-inch peices of nori.

6. Put your beef/asparagus wraps on the edge if the mori/rice layer and roll it over the beef, making thick maki rolls.

Note* You can leave the asparagus uncut and roll up entire stalks with meat, then roll into large sheets of rice over nori, and finally cut into desired peices/length.
